"Fattoria Torre del Castellano" lies on the hills to the south of Firenze. Its stony and well drained vineyards spread out over 18 hectares of medium hilly ground facing south west. Five hectares have been recently renovated, the rest, planted 25 years ago with Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Trebbiano and Malvasia vines are now bearing their best fruits even though to the detriment of the overall production. The winery is in the basement of the castle where the old cement tanks, perfectly preserved, are still used. |

The farm's idea and philosophy. We aim at combining the enthusiasm of our young age with the "mature" vines planted by our grandfather, avoiding to follow the current fashion that exalts strong standard wines, lacking in personality. We intend to highlight the tradition of the Tuscan autochthonous vines. This is why our friends and guests who wish to visit the winery and understand the wine making process are always welcome. |
